We're Tuesday People!
We gather on Tuesdays at 6:20 for music, fellowship, home-cooked meals and a variety of programs and study. Our programs will include guest speakers, conversations on topics of faith, challenging questions, concerns of the world, movies and just plain old fun!

We don't meet on the second Tuesday of the month because that week we go out and join our sponsoring churches in serving at the Flagstaff Food Kitchen from 3:45 to 6:00 p.m.

Second Monday - Join First Congregational Church of Flagstaff.
Second Tuesday - Join Flagstaff Federated Church.

  • Small Groups Study/Prayer/Fellowship

These are groups of 4-12 people who meet regularly at times and intervals (weekly/bi-weekly) that makes sense to the group. The groups this fall are centered on four different topics. Hopefully, we all can gather together every other month for fellowship and to share our experiences.
    • Women's Sat Am group - Mystic Women and Desert Mothers - Spiritual practices from the Christian Women of the Wilderness.
    • The Seeker - A guided study using Old Testament and New Testament Scripture to help the seeker better understand the Christian faith and our traditions. A great group for those who are seekers and even those who have many questions and doubts. (This group is limited to 18-24 year olds)
    • Sacred Spaces/ Holy Places - A monthly fellowship rooted in understanding God's call for us to care for the beauty of creation. We'll hike monthly connecting our activities to Scripture and Christian teaching related to environmental stewardship and simple living.
    • The Prophets/Colossians - What do these two books of the Bible have in common and how are they relevant to our lives today? These are Scriptures that deal with Holy Living and Faithful Living. What Does the Lord Require of You?
    • PeaceMakers - A Service group working for peace, justice and environmental concerns. This group will direct our ministry activities, retreats and lectures on topics related to PeaceMaking. We expect to meet at least two times a month for planning and study.

  • Lecture Series

We have some exciting guests lined to share their experiences.
    • September 18th - Dr. Phil and Lori Gates will speak to us about their protest, experiences, and even imprisonment as a result of their faith-inspired protest of the School of Americas. 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Salad and pita bar - $1.00 requested donation.
    • Dr. John Leung - Professor of History at NAU. Topic and date to be announced.
    • Rev. Bill Guise - Religion and Science - No Problem
      Date to be announced
    • Rev. Jed Schenck - Topic and date to be announced

  • Alternative Spring Break '08 - Disaster Relief

Two years ago we traveled to New Orleans to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief. This year, sadly, there is an abundance of need. This Tuesday we'll narrow our options and explore costs, fundraising and scholarship opportunities. Visit www.pcusa.org/pda to learn about possibilities and current needs.

October 8th and November 12th (second Monday of each month) volunteers can help at the Flagstaff Family Food Center from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, serving the evening meal. Other volunteers from the Arizona Daily Sun and First Congregational Church will also be there. If Mondays are not good, Tuesdays are available. October 9th and November 12th. The folks at Federated will help on Tuesdays. Details here.

Remember that hiking and camping trip at Havasupai Falls from June 16 through June 19th. OK. So its already over. But we have some great pictures.
